Official CO2 emission reports
The luxury tax for passenger cars in The Netherlands is also based on the amount of CO2 the vehicle emits. If the emission of the vehicle which is being imported is unknown, the Dutch customs office will set this figure to 350 gr/km, which results in a lot of additional gas guzzler tax.
Emission report
If there is no documentation to prove the CO2 emissions of a particular vehicle, VDS can provide a CO2 emission report for you. Our reports are guaranteed to be accepted by the Dutch customs office. This is also true for vehicles which are not from the EU, so we can also provide emission reports for US and other vehicles.
2010
From now on, the amount of BPM (luxury tax plus gas guzzler tax) will be more and more based on the CO2 emissions of the vehicle. To keep the amount of gas guzzler tax to the bare minimum, it is important to start with a CO2 test from an authorized facility. VDS can provide you with information about the amount of CO2 you can expect on a particular vehicle. We can also organize the entire test, so you will not have to worry about a thing.
